Campco opens godown at APMC Yard Baikampady at outlay of Rs 2.50 crore

Campco has opened its newly-built godown at APMC (Agricultural Produce Market Committee) Yard Baikampady. The godown building, covering an area of 15,000sq ft, was built at a cost of Rs.2.50 crore.

The godown was inaugurated by Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada.

Speaking on the occasion, he stressed the points noted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said, “Farmers are the backbone of the organisation, and the Central government will facilitate the doubling of their incomes, and also improve their standards of living by the year 2020.”

Kateel appreciated the various steps initiated by Campco in support of farmers and congratulated it for providing such a beautiful infrastructure for the needs of the farmers, and assured that it would stand with Campco even for 24 hours a day for the betterment of growers.

Presiding over the function, S R Satishchandra, president, Campco, congratulated the Member of Parliament, who has won for the past three consecutive terms, and requested him to impress upon the Central government for curbing the illegal flow of arecanut from Myanmar and pepper from countries like Vietnam, which constantly imbalances the Indian market. He also requested the MP to lead a delegation to Delhi in this respect.

Campco’s senior management, including its vice-president K Shankarnarayana Bhat, directors Satheeshchandra Bhandary, Chanila Thimappa Shetty, Shankarnarayana Bhat Kidoor and Dayanada Hegde and general manager Reshma Mallya, were present on the occasion. Ramachandra Kamath, senior manager, Campco, welcomed and delivered the vote of thanks to the gathering.
