Iowa among states prohibiting contact of copper, foods with pH below 6
A number of American states, including Iowa, have adopted the United States Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Model Food Code, which prohibits copper from coming into direct contact with foods whose pH is below six. Examples of these are vinegar, fruit juice and wine.
