In addition to his professional career at Tata, he was also appointed as a director on the board of India’s central bank, the Reserve Bank of India, in 2016.

“The company has built deep capabilities in this space, and is poised to address many significant consumer trends and opportunities in the years ahead. I am deeply honoured to be appointed chairman of the board, and look forward to working closely with the leadership team of Tata Global Beverages to help further strengthen and rapidly grow the business,” he added.

Chandrasekaran replaced Harish Bhat, who has stepped down as chairman of the board, but will continue as a non-executive director on the board of the company.
