Hindustan Unilever Limited announces integration of foods & refreshment

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced that it will be integrating its foods and refreshment categories in India, with effect from July 1, 2018. The integration will help HUL increase its organisational agility, better serve local consumers and drive synergies, while harnessing the advantage of global scale. The integration of these two categories is also in alignment with the structure of Unilever globally.
The company also announced two key changes in the management committee. Sudhir Sitapati, presently executive director, refreshment, will be redesignated as executive director, foods and refreshment (F&R), and will be responsible for the integrated F&R business. He will continue to be a part of HUL’s management committee.
Sitapati, who joined the company in 1999, has worked in various roles in customer development and marketing across the home and personal care (HPC) and F&R categories over the last 19 years.
Geetu Verma, who is the currently executive director, foods, India, will be moving to Rotterdam as global vice-president, nutrition and natural platforms, Unilever. This is a new role designed to grow the company’s presence in the health and wellbeing sector.
The F&R business has delivered consistent growth in India. It lends significant scale to Unilever in the region and will continue to be a strategic priority for the business.
