Milkbasket raises close to $16 million from Lenovo and other investors

Daily grocery delivery start-up Milkbasket recently raised approximately $16 million from a slew of investors, including Mayfield Advisors, Beenext, Kalaari Capital, Unilever Ventures, Lenovo and Blume Ventures.
The company, which has announced the launch of its services in Bengaluru, plans to hire 2,500 people over the next two years to support its operations and growth in the city.
“Within next two years, we hope to have the largest operations in Bengaluru, and will be creating employment for over 2,500 people in the process,” stated Anant Goel, co-founder and chief executive officer, Milkbasket.
The start-up currently has 1,500 employees in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, and has stated that the hiring will be made for both ground operations as well as the corporate office.
