Sonoco opens global capability centre in Hyderabad

US-based packaging solutions leader Sonoco Products Company has launched a global capability centre in Hyderabad to advance packaging design and manufacturing through data analytics, automation, and emerging technologies.
The NYSE-listed firm will invest up to $10 million in the first phase of the performance hub, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, digital transformation, and technology leadership. The company plans to hire 300 technologists within 12 to 18 months and scale up to 500 employees over three years.
Howard Coker, CEO, said, “The hub will enhance sustainable packaging solutions and create opportunities for local talent in technology and manufacturing. Hyderabad has been chosen for its thriving tech ecosystem.”
