ITC Limited has expanded its fresh dairy portfolio with the launch of pouch milk in toned and double-toned variants and dahi (curd) in Kolkata under the brand name Aashirvaad Svasti.
This was stated by Hemant Malik, divisional chief executive, foods, ITC Limited, at a launch event held at ITC Sonar. Keeping in mind the consumer preferences, the pouch milk is pasteurised using a unique Taste-Up process that makes the milk consistently richer, thicker and tastier.
Toned milk is available in 500ml packs priced at Rs 21 and one-litre packs priced at Rs 41; Double Toned milk is available in 500ml packs priced at Rs 18 and 240ml packs priced at Rs 10; Dahi is available in popular stock-keeping units (SKU) of 200g priced at Rs 15 and 400g priced at Rs 25.

Launched with the proposition Rojkar Ghono Doodh (every day’s thick milk), the new product would enable consumers in Kolkata to enjoy thicker and tastier milk, tastier tea, well-set curd and great desserts.

The Dahi has been developed using a special blend of cultures to give consumers a thick and tasty curd.

The pouch milk and curd packs will feature iconic symbols of Kolkata such as the Howrah Bridge, Victoria Memorial and the tram. Through this initiative, ITC pays a befitting tribute to the city’s legacy and the company’s long-standing association with it.

Malik said, “The launch of Aashirvaad Svasti pouch milk and dahi in Kolkata reflects ITC’s unwavering commitment to, and focus on, delighting consumers with its superior and differentiated food products.”

“Our unique offerings to the consumers in Kolkata adhere to the highest levels of safety and hygiene standards in manufacturing process and supply chains. The launch of these popular daily-use dairy products in Kolkata also serves as our befitting tribute to the City of Joy, which has been home to ITC for over a 100 years,” he added.

ITC forayed into the Rs 720-billion pouch milk category when it launched Aashirvaad Svasti milk in Bihar earlier this year.  Its launch in Kolkata –  the first metro city in the country to witness the foray – has been inspired by an encouraging consumer response.

All three products will be available at general trade outlets across the city.
