CSIR-CFTRI to host nutri-concept workshop with Finland’s Turku varsity

CSIR-CFTRI will organise a workshop entitled Nutri-Concept: Innovative Food Concepts and Technologies for Global Nutrition and Business in association with the University of Turku and Natural Resource Institute, Finland, on May 15 and 16, 2018.
About 20-25 eminent speakers from reputed national and international institutions from India and overseas will present case studies and opportunities in the area of global nutrition challenges and the way forward. Five technical sessions and poster presentations will also be arranged as a part of the symposium.
The institute has been a part of major nutrition intervention programmes, such as Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), the Mid-day Meal Scheme and so on. It has developed a number of supplementary foods, suited to the local food habits, to meet the macro- and micronutrient requirements of children.
In CSIR-CFTRI, research and development (R&D) activities are both continued as in-house or by means of collaborations with like-minded institutions within the country and overseas. The institute has been collaborating with institutions from Finland to effectively counter malnutrition with innovative solutions and approaches.
