DFRL’s five-day course on GFLP gets underway, evinces positive response

A five-day course on Good Food Laboratory Practices (GLFP), organised by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), New Delhi, has kicked off at the Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) campus in Mysuru and evinced a positive response. The course will conclude on March 16, 2018.
The course, whose objective is to refresh the knowledge and skills in good food laboratory practices as per the guidelines laid down by the country’s apex food regulator, was inaugurated by N Bhaskar, advisor, quality assurance (QA), FSSAI. He deliberated on the purpose of organising the course and FSSAI’s vision in this regard.
G K Sharma, associate director, delivered the welcome address to participants from the states of Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
Rakesh Kumar Sharma, director, DFRL, delivered the presidential address and briefed about the DFRL and FSSAI interacting on several aspects.
About 20 lectures have been scheduled and there will be demonstrations of analytical techniques every day. The vote of thanks was proposed by D D Wadikar, scientist-E and course coordinator.
