About 191 hospitality professionals from Western India were trained and certified during the five Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) programmes conducted by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI), in association with FSSAI, in January 2019. Of these, one each were held in Lonavala, Matheran and Navi Mumbai, and two took place in Mumbai.
These have taken the number of FoSTaC programmes conducted across the Western region to 36. Over the last few years, the Western India hospitality body has helped 1,282 hospitality professionals to get trained and certified under the skill enhancing programme.
“Hotel establishments in the Western region have been proactive in getting staff trained and certified under the FoSTaC programme. HRAWI is thankful to the establishments for it, and is glad to have facilitated the programme under FSSAI’s guidance,” said Gurbaxish Singh Kohli, president, HRAWI.
“We wish to thank the trainers deputed by the country’s apex food regulator for diligently imparting the requisite knowledge to hospitality professionals. HRAWI will continue to host the programmes for as many FBOs (food business operators) as possible to benefit from the programme,” he added.
“We are also pleased to inform that HRAWI was recently felicitated by FSSAI for its invaluable contribution towards the Swasth Bharat Yatra campaign,” Kohli informed.
