ITDC and Amity University Haryana ink MoU to offer hospitality courses

India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (ITDC), a hospitality major under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amity University Haryana, Gurugram, to offer six-month certificate courses and one-year diplomas in hospitality trades (such as food production, bakery, food and beverage service, front office operations and tourism and travel students) through Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (AIH&TM), one of the premier public sector unit (PSU) hospitality training institutes of the country under ITDC.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Ravneet Kaur, chairperson and managing director, India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd, by Piyush Tiwari, director (commercial and marketing), ITDC, and Padmakali Banerjee, pro-vice-chancellor, Amity University Haryana.
Also present on this occasion were Pradip Kumar Das, director (F); Anita Bimal, general manager, human resource development (HRD) and principal, AIH&TM; Bhavana Adhikari, deputy dean, academics, Amity University; Arunangshu Bhattacharya, professor and head of school, Amity School of Hospitality, Amity University, and senior officers from both the organisations.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Kaur said, “ITDC has always been paving road to success and change, driving growth of tourism in India. We believe tourism and hospitality are two important segments contributing to nation building and progressive development.”
“AIH&TM, the ISO 9001:2015-certified HRD wing of ITDC, has trained over 28,000 candidates through its hotels and industry partnerships. With an excellent past placement record, we believe that this collaboration of ITDC and Amity University Haryana will impart skills to students and contribute to the growth of tourism in India,” he added.
