Award ceremony marks conclusion of Aahar’s ’17 essay, organised by ITPO

Aahar 2017 - the 32nd edition of the food and beverage and hospitality fair organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) - concluded with the distribution of awards for excellence in four categories, namely food and processed food, hospitality and decor solutions, F&B equipment and new and young entrepreneurs.
The food and processed food category was further divided into two sub-categories - domestic and foreign. In the domestic category, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and Culinary Art India bagged gold medals, Food Service India bagged the silver medal and Shineroad Foods India Pvt Ltd won the bronze medal.
Rodaaji Company was honoured with a certificate of appreciation. In the foreign category, the High Commission of Canada bagged the gold medal, Poland’s ministry of agriculture and rural development won the silver medal and Cambro Manufacturing of the United States won the bronze medal.
Pentair Water India Pvt Ltd, Bharat Potteries and Ramsha Carpet and More were awarded the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in the F&B equipment category. In the hospitality and decor solutions sector, Sai Siddeshwara Arts and Frames bagged the gold medal, Springtek bagged the silver medal and I P Cleaning India Pvt Ltd bagged the bronze medal.
In the new and young entrepreneur category, MEA AME Global and Stallion Barware Manufacturing Company bagged the gold and silver medals respectively. Adinath Engineering Company, TMI Colman, J K Hotelware and Pearl Art Gallery were also honoured with appreciation certificates.
ITPO officials stated that about 90 per cent of the participants had evinced their keen interest in participating in the next edition of the event.
J Guna Sekaran, general manager, ITPO, acknowledged the continued support of all the associates in organising the event, which witnessed the participation of about 900 exhibitors from 19 countries (including India) and about 70,000 visitors.
He said that Aahar was extremely successful in terms of enhanced size as well as quality of exhibitors and visitors.
Asia’s best-known brands participated in the fair, which was attended by a large number of individual businessmen, who evinced keen interest in sourcing different items of food, processed foods, beverages, hotel equipment and supplies. Prominent among those were a 150-member delegation from China and a group of 45 delegates from Tamil Nadu.
Aahar 2017 was organised with the support of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) and apex industry bodies such as APEDA, the AssociationofResource Companies for the Hospitality Industry of India (ARCHII), the Hotel and Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers’ Association of India (HOTREMAI), the All India Food Processors’ Association (AIFPA), the Food and Hospitality Support Association of India (FHSAI) and the Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI).
The foreign exhibitors represented the United States, China, Canada, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Spain, the Sultanate of Oman, Korea, Sweden, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Peru and Lebanon.
