Superfoods Valley,  a nutrition and food-tech startup based in Bangalore launched its flagship product Good Monk, a one-of-a-kind nutrition mix, at an event attended by eminent members of the scientific council. The company also unveiled a new app that helps educate users and creates transparency about the nutritive value of the food we consume.

Good Monk is a unique mix of highly bio-available ingredients such as 130 Cr. Probiotics & Fibre, Lysine (Protein building block), Vit A, B6, B9, B12, C, D, Iron, Zinc, Ashwagandha and Brahmi. The power of 13 Nutri-Herbs helps improve gut health, support immunity, unlock energy and aid mental development. The ‘No COT’ feature of the product makes it easy for mothers to smuggle nutrition into food.

The event was attended by Dr. B Sesikeran, former Director, National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr  Shovan Ganguli, food researcher & scientist, and Dr P R Krishnaswamy, ex-director & founder, Protein Foods and Nutrition Development Association of India, among others, who highlighted the importance and need of such products in the Indian market.

Superfoods Valley, founded by  Amarpreet S Anand and Sahiba Kaur, aims to bridge the nutrition gap and make nutrition easy and accessible for all. Good Monk is the first step in this direction. The product is scientifically designed and tested and helps plug a family’s daily nutrition gap without altering the colour, odour and taste of the food (NO COT).

Commenting on the launch, Anand, founder of Superfoods Valley, said, “What’s most worrisome is that the urban upper-middle-class households are suffering from lack of proper nutrition in a significant way and it’s not because they lack access to good food, but because of the modern lifestyle & eating habits. So instead of chasing the family to eat nutritiously & continuously suffering from nutrition gap in their daily diet - we are solving to adding health & nutrition to whatever they love to eat. Our vision is to be a part of Namakdani. Hence, Good Monk - a product that is designed to fill the nutrition gap among Indian families.”

The recommended dosage varies for adults and children - 1 sachet a day for children aged 7 to 12 years and 2 sachets per day for adults (1 sachet per meal).

“Food and nutrition transparency is another challenge that appears to be on the checklist of many consumers today owing to the rise in non-communicable diseases and lifestyle disorders. One of the other innovations by the company is India’s first personalised Food Recommendation app called What’s Your NIQ (WNIQ) which helps consumers make smarter food choices. With Good Monk and WNIQ, Superfoods Valley seeks to address some of the most pressing nutritional issues and inspire the world to eat nutritious and live healthy,” he said.
