Aahar concludes; 55,000 in attendance; awards & product launches galore

The international food, beverage and hospitality fair, Aahar, concluded here on Saturday with officials claiming an attendance of nearly 55,000 business visitors and delegates from India and abroad.

“The 33rd edition of Aahar, organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) in association with various other food and hospitality bodies concluded on a successful note at Pragati Maidan,” said ITPO in a statement. The event was organised with active support from the ministry of food processing industries (MoFPI), APEDA, ARCHII, HOTREMAI, FHSAI, FIFI and AIFPA.

On the occasion, Deepak Kumar, executive director, ITPO, presented the Awards for Excellence in display in different categories. These include F&B Equipment, Food & Processed Food, Hospitality & Décor Solution and Foreign sector.

In Foreign sector, the Gold Medal was conferred on the department of agriculture markets, ministry of agriculture and rural development, Poland; the embassy of Tunisia bagged the Silver Medal while, the Commercial Office of Peru in India won the Bronze Medal. Special Commendation Awards were presented to Oztiryakiler Madeni Esya Sanayi Ve Tickaretas, Government of Turkey; and Vienen KVS B.V., Government of the Netherlands.

In the category of Food & Processed Food, Rich Graviss Products Pvt. Ltd bagged the Gold Medals, while Veeba Food Service got the Silver Medal and Fino Foods India was honoured with the Bronze Medal. Dolphin Foods India and Shiner Foods India were presented the Commendation Certificates.

Hotel Needs India was honoured with the Gold Medal; while the Silver Medal was conferred on Wang Professionals; and the Bronze was presented to Dimple Packaging Pvt. Ltd. AWK Steelwares and Venus Industries were also commended in F&B Equipment categories.

Complete Comfort Solutions, Raja Arts and Windsor Industries bagged the Gold, Silver and the Bronze Medals respectively in Hospitality and Décor Solutions Sector. APEDA was also honoured on the occasion.

Later, addressing the crowd, Kumar expressed his satisfaction over enhanced number of business visitors and delegates from India and abroad. Complimenting the award winners, he informed that there would be more covered exhibition space with three halls (more than 50,000 sq. m space) to cater to the needs of participants by March 2019 for next edition of Aahar.

In her welcome address, Hema Maity, general manager, ITPO, acknowledged continued support of all the associates for holding the event. She said that Aahar was extremely successful.

Present on the occasion were V K Macker, president, Food and Hospitality Support Association of India (FHSAI); J K Khurana, president, Hotel and Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers Association of India (HOTREMAI); and D K Singh, chairman, APEDA.

NatureFresh Professional
NatureFresh Professional, the national brand of bakery shortenings and margarine from Cargill’s food business in India, brought to its customers and bakers an eclectic range of recipes at the show. Curated by the brand, the recipes were created using NatureFresh Professional Lite. The stall hosted four different and interesting baking sessions for Home Bakers and on Danish Pastry, Desserts and Doughnuts. In addition, Karachi Bakery, one of NatureFresh Professional’s partners, showcased its range of products at the brand’s stall. It also launched its recipe booklet, for the quarter, showcasing recipes which can be made using the product such as Chinese Taosu, Crispy Sesame Strips, Italian Plum Cake, Crisp Black Sesame Strips and Cheese Cracker.
