The FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), organised a session on ‘Nourish to Flourish’ in a Hyderabad hotel in Banjara Hills. Two illustrious speakers and subject experts, Pooja Makhija, celebrity nutritionist, author and entrepreneur and Suparna Trikha, author, columnist, and wellness entrepreneur revealed in a one-and-a-half-hour session the secrets to feeling good inside-out.

Makhija is a dietician in her career spanning nearly two decades transformed the bodies – and the lives – of over twenty-five thousand people. Makhija said nutrition is one of the most underestimated partners in your health journey. Learn to love food and not fear it. She is the author of three books N For Nourish; Eat and Delete Junior and Eat and Delete.

Carbohydrates are your friends. They are not your enemies. No food is bad for you. Intelligent nutrition is important.  Only you need to alter the order of the food you eat.  Eat food god made and not man-made. It will be good for you. Learn to love water. 73% of Indians do not eat sufficient proteins. Women need more sleep than men. Indian thali is the most balanced and the best in the world, she said.

Trikha takes her patrons back to nature with her range of beauty products. She is close to nature. She hails from a family where her maternal grandfather was the vice chancellor and chancellor of the Gurukul Kangri, it was quite natural that Trikha took that path. Trikha said natural food is the best.  Ammonia-free colour when applied to the hair does more harm than good. Hair ages six times faster than skin. So, hair care is most important. She has demonstrated a few healthy recipes. She spoke about natural food, healthy skin and hair.

Priya Gazdar, chairperson—FLO Hyderabad in her opening remarks, said, “I lend my grateful thanks to Suparna and Pooja for joining us here this afternoon to take us through how we can draw inspiration from nature, to find beauty and harmony that go beyond skin-deep.”
