Hakkasan to mark Women’s Day with Walk the Wok with Chef Raymond Wong

Hakkasan, in Bandra West, will commemorate International Women’s Day with a culinary workshop titled Walk the Wok with Chef Raymond Wong for its women patrons. Priced at Rs 1800 plus taxes, the workshop, which will include the tasting of Masterclass delicacies and a glass of sparkling wine), will commence at 11am on March 8, 2018 and conclude at 2pm.

Wong will shed light on flavour profiles, ingredients and the Chao (wok) technique for bringing to life Cantonese Wok delicacies, such as Tofu Claypot, Prawn in Szechuan Sauce, Black Truffle and Asparagus Fried Rice and Seafood Mee Goreng Noodle.

At the workshop, the patrons will be taken through the showcase of Cantonese ingredients, juxtaposed with locally-sourced ingredients that make for perfect substitutes, when making Cantonese dishes in domestic kitchens.

Subsequently, Wong will escort the party to the Hakkasan kitchen, where he will demonstrate Chao (Wok), a technique that is similar to a stir frying technique and involves heating the wok to a high temperature, adding a small amount of oil, followed by spices, meats, vegetables and liquid in succession.

At the end of the workshop, patrons will be served portions of the aforementioned dishes to taste, along with a glass of celebratory sparkling wine and certificates signed by Wong.
