Nestle UK recalls KitKat Milk Chocolate Bites batch owing to mispacking
Monday, 17 April, 2017, 08 : 00 AM [IST]
York
Nestlé UK Ltd is voluntarily recalling a batch of its KitKat Original Milk Chocolate Bites Pouch Bag, which weighs 104g, because it has been mispacked with KitKat Peanut Butter Bites.

The fact that it contains peanuts and nuts has not been declared on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts and/or nuts.

The batch code of the product (70720457V2) can be found at the back of the wrapper, which also states that it is best before December 2017. No other Nestlé or KitKat products are known to be affected.

If a consumer has bought the above product, and has an allergy to nuts and/or peanuts, he/she should not eat it.

Instead, he/she must dispose of the contents, and either send the empty pack with his/her name and address to KitKat Bites Recall in York or contact the company via telephone.

Nestlé is also in the process of contacting the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their members about the recall.

The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers, explaining to them why it is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
