Coca-Cola will introduce AdeZ - a new range of on-the-go plant-based snacking drinks - in Europe. It is available in three variants of dairy-free smoothies, with seeds, fruit juices, vitamins and minerals, in 250ml bottles.
The flavours are Amazing Almond, Awesome Oat and Courageous Coconut.
Almond is not a nut, but the part that is eaten is the seed of the almond fruit. Coconut is not a fruit or nut (despite the name), and Oat is a grain, but the portion used is its seeds.
These seeds provide the base for its creamy flavour. Each flavour has a different seed base.
Meaning of AdeZ AdeZ is from Argentina, where it is called AdeS. The name stands for alimentos de semillia or seed foods.
In Latin America, the drink has been around for about 30 years, and is still popular as a snacking drink.
Though the spelling is a little different across the two languages, the pronunciation is the same (A-Dez).
AdeZ is perfect for vegans, vegetarians, health-conscious flexitarians and omnivores alike, as a part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
Benefits of AdeZ • It is 100 per cent vegan and vegetarian • Perfect if one is lactose-intolerant • Ideal for on-the-go • Offers plant-based nutrition • Has no added sugar • Added vitamins and minerals
Availability AdeZ, which tastes best ice cold, is available at Boots, Ocado and Amazon. From the end of April 2018, it will be available at Asda. All one has to do is shake and drink it.
