Our Bureau, Mumbai
Sprawled across 4700 square feet, in a vintage-meets-modern home-like atmosphere – Silly, stands out for its heart-warming casual settings - a humble all day cafe and bar that places a large importance on being free, unapologetic, using local produce, being constantly innovative and building a community culture.

A thriving mango tree that’s over 65 years old invites you into the cafe, as the beautiful white and grey gravel pathway leads you through their outdoor garden sitting -- checking all the boxes where first impressions are concerned.

Created and curated by award winning restaurateurs - Pawan Shahri and Dhaval Udeshi -The team behind London Taxi in Kamala Mills and Butterfly High in BKC, have joined hands with luxury events expert Nikita Harisinghani and first time restaurateur Karan Nohria to bring this innovative community bar to life.

Pawan Shahri said, “Bandra is that hub of cultures - a community driven area where everyone has their own specific moods and preferences from specialised coffee to gin cocktails, bakeries and healthy offerings. The idea was to bring people together under one roof and create a distinct hangout place where everyone can be themselves and have a great time, without any inhibitions, obligations, or even a dress-code. A place that provides a sense of belonging, where you can just be yourself and be silly.”

The space itself is anything but pretentious, with the concrete-styled walls and lush greens emanating a rustic warmth throughout, yet the décor manages to capture that elusive smart-casual elegance. For epicureans who love the character of a resto-bar, the cafe promises an impressive set up that spans across four distinct sections -- the garden, the diner area, the private recessed seating and the co-working mezzanine with a maze of tables, stairs and quirky furnishings, making it the perfect spot to spend long working days and relaxed breezy evenings -  it is a hang-out space with smaller micro areas that seamlessly transforms from desk to dinner or drinks. The entire space reveals its many different moods and colours with lush greenery, long community work stations, comfortable seating, and a book cabinet that secretly opens into the powder room.

Among the swaying greens and boho-styled peacock chairs, it’s difficult not to succumb to its coffee invitation. Promising an extensive and unique farm to cup coffee experience, it also offers its patrons an opportunity to personalise their drink, brew their own coffee, roast and package it for their next visit -- all ranging from affogatos and expressos to popular favourites like cappuccinos, lattes and americanos.

Everything from the brand philosophy to the verdant environment, down to the heartwarming nooks and crannies, its seamless narrative promises a memorable experience - that’s easy, minimal, fun, and absolutely fuss-free.
