Kiya Foods Pvt Ltd, a start-up in the food business, recently launched its brand, Royale Spices, in the Mumbai market. Rahul Akkara, director, sales and marketing, Kiya Foods Pvt Ltd, said, “We are excited about this new portfolio at Kiya Foods.”

“Our range of turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder comes from the farms of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Guntur and Gujarat,” he added.

“What makes it exciting is that all our products are 100 per cent natural and straight from the farm, and hence, there are no added preservatives,” Akkara said.

As regards the pricing, Akkara said, “Our products, though natural, are very competitive on the price front. Turmeric is priced at Rs 32 per 100g pack, Kashmiri Mirch is priced at Rs 52 per 100g pack and coriander is priced at Rs 32 per 100g. We also have an introductory offer along with our packs.”

Each of Royale Spices’ offerings goes through stringent research and development (R&D) and quality checks at its manufacturing hub in Tamil Nadu, thus ensuring that the customers get the best product for the price they pay.

Kiya Foods has tied up with over 350 housewives and home chefs, who sample the product and give their feedback on the quality, aroma and purity.

“The best feedback on the product has to be from the homemaker. She is the one who cooks food for her family, and knows what is best for them and her,” said Akkara added. The company believes this is the best way to create great products.

Royale Spices is currently available at general stores and modern trade outlets in Mumbai.

The Mumbai-based company has its manufacturing facility in Erode, Tamil Nadu, which churns out 1,000kg per day.

The plant also has a state -of-the-art packing facility which ensures that all products coming from Kiya Foods are hygienically packed and monitored under strict quality control parameters.

The company has plans in place to expand its food business, starting with spices initially, and eventually move to packaged food products.
