The Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) will organise the 15th International Conference on Castor (Global Castor Conference – 2017) at Hotel Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad, on February 17 and 18, 2017. It will be supported by a number of reputed national exchanges and organisations engaged in the castor business and the United States-based International Castor Oil Association (ICOA).
The castor industry will deliberate and focus on the issues it faces and arrive at solutions by interacting with eminent speakers and panel members from India and overseas at the conference, at which castor manufacturers, importers and exporters, technologists, players from the commodity exchanges, brokers and dealers will be present.
It will witness the unfolding of the latest status of Indian as well as global castor oil scenarios by the eminent personalities from the fraternity. There will be a presentation on the findings of the 2016-17 Castor Crop Survey, conducted in key castor-growing states such as Gujarat, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh by AC Nielsen, and a panel discussion on Castor Oil Price Outlook-2017, featuring Indian and overseas speakers associated with the castor business.
Over 400 delegates and special invitees from all over India and overseas will be present at the conference, which will provide the delegates and international buyers of castor oil and derivatives opportunities to have one-to-one meetings to develop new business contacts and strengthen the existing ones.
India meets over 80 per cent of the demand for castor oil, thereby enjoying a dominant position in the world castor scenario. The country’s exports of castor oil and derivatives are estimated to be over Rs 6,500 crore ($1 billion) per annum. The global castor derivative market, estimated to be worth over $3 billion, is highly dependent on India.
