PepsiCo India has launched its first-ever range of takeaway glass bottles across its entire carbonated beverage portfolio - comprising Pepsi, Pepsi Black, Mountain Dew, 7UP and Mirinda - for consumers in Maharashtra. The new range of 250ml takeaway glass bottles comes with PepsiCo’s unique twist cap.
They will be priced at Rs 20, the same price point as the existing 250ml PET packs. The effort is consistent with the company’s efforts of offering greater choice and convenience for consumers.
Vishal Kaul, vice-president, beverage category, PepsiCo India, said, “We are delighted to launch the first-ever range of carbonated beverages in takeaway glass bottles.”
“We are committed to making it easier for consumers to choose their favourite PepsiCo beverage brands through category leading innovation, new packaging formats and choices for different consumption occasions,” he added.
“This new range is another reiteration of our effort of delivering on-the-go, convenient packaging format that is affordable and is recyclable,” Kaul said.
This initiative comes on the back of encouraging consumer response to Pepsi Black in takeaway glass bottles that were introduced in the second half of 2017. The new range of takeaway glass bottles will be in addition to the existing classic returnable glass bottles and other packaging formats across the portfolio.
To build surround sound for the innovation, the brand will be rolling out a 360-degree campaign in Maharashtra, to bring alive the proposition – Nayi glass bottle, Kholo, Pio Le Jao.
The initiative of expanding the footprint of glass bottles by PepsiCo through the introduction of takeaway bottles is another in PepsiCo’s efforts of offering greater choices for consumers and continually building awareness on packaging that is recyclable or sustainable.
