Bunty Rao, a volunteer lifeguard at Juhu Beach, has saved nearly 50 lives over the last 17 years. His dedication and sense of responsibility towards humanity was recognised with a lunch of honour at Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach, AccorHotels’ beachfront property, on the occasion of the global hospitality major’s golden jubilee.
The lunch was not only applause for Rao’s contribution to the society, but also a token of gratitude. The lifeguard was given a grand welcome and given the opportunity to partake of a specially-curated menu, cut a celebratory cake and gift hampers to commend him for his courage and heroism.
Manish Dayya, general manager, Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach, said, “On AccorHotels’ 50th anniversary, this initiative is a splendid way to recognise the real heroes around us and set live examples of humanity. Rao’s bravery deserved to be acknowledged, along with those of many others, whose significant contributions have gone unnoticed.”
