Starbucks introduces Hathikuli Tea and Frozen Teas under Teavana range

Starbucks, which launched the Teavana range (comprising 18 new tea offerings) in India last year, unveiled a host of new products under it. These include Starbucks Teavana Hathikuli Tea, Starbucks Teavana Frozen Teas.

Starbucks Teavana Hathikuli Tea has been sourced from the Hathikuli tea estate, an integrated organic farm located next to the Kaziranga National Park, the biological reserve in Assam.

A full-leaf Assam black tea, it is the first organic tea at Starbucks in India. It derives its name from the Assamese words Hathi (elephant) and Kuli (frequent). That implies that it is a place that is frequently visited by elephants.

Each sip of the beverage unfolds to reveal the complexity of the full leaves with a distinct full creamy body and smooth malty sweetness. It is served in a full pot, making it the perfect tea for two. It can either be enjoyed black or with milk and sugar.

“Starbucks Teavana brings a contemporary twist to the revered Indian tea traditions,” said Sumitro Ghosh, chief executive officer, Tata Starbucks.

“This year, we take innovation to a whole new level with the first organic full-leaf black tea in the form of Starbucks Teavana Hathikuli Tea,” he added.

“We invite our customers to explore and enjoy our signature tea ritual with the new brewed-to-order Hathikuli Tea and the invigorating India Spice Majesty Blend with a robust infusion of whole spices, which we launched last year,” Ghosh said.

Starbucks Teavana also launched Frozen Teas, which are an entirely new way to enjoy the modern tea experience of Starbucks Teavana.

The Frozen Tea ingredients are curated to deliver the Teavana modernised tea experience and pay homage to culinary cultures in Asia.

These brightly-coloured beverages are icy and refreshing, making them the perfect go-to for lunch, an afternoon pick-me-up, or a post-workout thirst quencher.

Starbucks Teavana Frozen Hibiscus Tea with Pomegranate  Pearls
This refreshing beverage combines floral notes of hibiscus flowers and rose petals with the tropical flavours of papaya and mango, enhanced with hints of cinnamon and lemongrass. The beverage is topped with glistening, jewel-like pearls of pomegranate juice that burst on the tongue.

Starbucks Teavana Black Tea with Ruby Grapefruit and Honey
A proven in-market seller from last year is back. Traditional western black tea combined with tart Star Ruby red grapefruit, perfectly portioned in honey for a touch of added sweetness.

Starbucks has also launched a range of tea cakes that pair well with a comforting cup of hot tea.

The Cranberry Oats Cake, the Pineapple Cinnamon Cake and the Date and Walnut Cake pair well with brewed teas, making for a hearty mid-afternoon snack.

Teavana is committed to using only premium, high-quality ingredients. It sources the top five per cent of the world’s tea and quality botanicals from around the globe for its products.
