Jugnoo has launched Meals, its ready-to-eat food delivery service, in Gurugram, Haryana. The meals will be prepared in its in-house kitchen, packaged and delivered by the team.

Nitish Singh, chief financial officer, Jugnoo, heads the Fresh and Meals verticals. He said, “After launching the service in Chandigarh and Jaipur, venturing into Gurugram was quick and easy, especially to end the year with optimism.”

“Additionally, factoring in the improving auto-rickshaw situation in the city, the idea is to keep auto drivers profitably engaged,” he added.

“Also, as a huge number of people relocate to the city for work from different parts of the country, they find it difficult to order homely food at affordable rates. We are trying to bridge this gap for them,” he added.

The timings have been kept very flexible. Lunch can be ordered between 12:30pm and 4:30pm and dinner can be ordered between 7:30pm and 10:30pm.

To avail of this first-of-its-kind initiative, customers can transact in a completely cash-free way, using their digital wallets to pay the Jugnoo delivery guy. After the demonetisation drive, the company witnessed over 100 per cent spike in digital payment-based transactions.

“Our menu changes every day, so it gives a variety to people who order on a regular basis,” stated Singh.

“We also give our customers an option to choose their delivery slot, so that they can get warm food delivered to their doorsteps. At Jugnoo, we emphasise on keeping the food less spicy and oily, making it a healthier option for people, who order their meals daily,” he added.

The company is currently receiving up to 100 orders per day, and aimsto fulfill up to 500 orders per day in a month.
