Britannia launched 50 50 Mathri Masti to further strengthen its cracker portfolio. Priced at Rs 10 per 50g pack, it is available across markets and outlets. The cracker category primarily comprises two variants - salty and sweet and salty. There have been minimal innovations for the past many years.

“Building on the success of Maska Chaska and the launch of Mathri Masti, the brand aims to offer consumers a diverse portfolio of differentiated tastes in a cracker format,” the company stated. Among the ingredients used to make mathri - a popular snack in the Hindi heartland - are ajwain and pepper. The new 50 50 Mathri Masti is light and a healthier option for those who want to avoid fried and oily snacks. It can be paired with pickle or chutneys.

“We have recently consolidated the entire range of crackers under the 50 50 portfolio and feel the route to grow the category is by offering consumers a first-of-its-kind desi tastes in a crispy cracker format,” said Ali Harris Shere, vice-president, marketing, Britannia Industries Ltd.

“Mathri Masti will offer consumers the taste of their favourite homemade snacks and will surely delight consumers who are bored of having regular crackers,” he added.
