Nair appointed Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages’ executive director, HR

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd (HCCB), one of India’s largest fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies, has appointed Seema Nair as executive director, human resources (HR).

She has succeeded Gaurav Chaturvedi, who has taken over as chief executive officer, Coca-Cola Pinya Beverages, the bottling operations of the Coca-Cola Company in Myanmar.  Chaturvedi now joins ranks with 13 other associates of Hindustan Coca-Cola, who are serving at senior executive positions in the Coca-Cola Company outside India.

Nair, a veteran with over 20 years’ experience in HR, joins Hindustan Coca-Cola from Cisco Systems, where she worked for over eight years.

At Cisco Systems, she was responsible for HR across India and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

Prior to Cisco Systems, she has had stints at Intel Corporation, Microland Group and Crompton Greaves.

Seema will lead the HR function of Hindustan Coca-Cola in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh, and report to Christina Ruggiero, chief executive officer, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd.

Ruggiero said, “We warmly welcome Nair to HCCB, and will certainly leverage her rich experience to usher in a culture of agility and innovation across our large manufacturing and sales organisation, which employs more than 8,500 associates.”

“We are transforming ourselves into a total beverage company that has expertise in producing a variety of beverages, is digitally savvy, nimble and is integrated with the local community,” she added.

“I take this opportunity to thank Chaturvedi for his role in making Hindustan Coca-Cola one of the largest beverage manufacturers in the country. I am sure he will do well as the CEO of bottling operations in Myanmar,” Ruggiero stated.

Chaturvedi has served in various positions, most recently as executive director, human resources, at Hindustan Coca-Cola. He has also served as zonal vice-president, Andhra Pradesh, and as director, operational excellence of the company. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai.

The other Hindustan Coca-Cola executives in senior leadership roles overseas include Sanket Ray, Mayank Arora and Puneet Varshney.

While Ray is chief executive officer, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam Ltd, Arora is managing director, Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka and Varshney is managing director, Bottlers Nepal Ltd – the bottling partners of the Coca-Cola Company in the Himalayan nation.

S K Jawahar, Akeel Mohamed, Deepak Kaul and Tapas Kumar Mondal are some of the other senior Hindustan Coca-Cola executives, who are in leadership roles in various countries.
