fiogf49gjkf0d fiogf49gjkf0d Zappfresh, a one-year-old online meat brand, appointed Ankur Shrivastava chief technology officer (CTO) to build India’s first and only 360-degree farm Farm-Tech supply chain architecture.
The company was co-founded by Shruti Gochhwal and Deepanshu Manchanda, and was reported to have clocked 50,000 orders per month in Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), where it is based.
The company partnered with ColdEx, India’s number one cold chain logistics company, to manage their supply chain inventory.
Shrivastava specialises in building high-performance scalable systems, product-based research and problem-solving techniques.
Prior to joining Zappfresh, he was a part of the core team at MobiKwik and was responsible for setting up and developing scalable technology for the company, which supported lakhs of transactions per day. He started his career with Infosys, where he worked as a senior software engineer.
At Zappfresh, Shrivastava’s role includes inventing technology and processes for Farm-Tech, which will help connect farmers, vendors and retail channels.
His responsibilities include solving open-ended challenges in Farm-Tech systems like real-time data and asset tracking, visibility and automated tagging of inventory in offline systems, reducing and optimising time to consumer from farm, demand forecast engine, etc. These systems will help in strengthening the brand and assist in cost optimisation.
“Technology is interesting, and even more when it can help make systems and processes simpler and convenient for every user. This is what brought us together; the idea behind creating a platform for every stakeholder involved from the first stage to the last mile in meat delivery. I am excited to work on developing the technology which will help in real-time data and asset tracking for attaining transparency in the meat supply chain system,” said Shrivastava.
“We are very pleased to have Shrivastava join the Zappfresh team. Under his expertise, we aim to build India’s first and only 360-degree farm-to-fork supply chain enabling government-approved farm level procurements. We would streamline supply chain in order to give our customers, clients and channel partners the best, cost-effective meat buying experience,” said Gochhwal.
The company has built an enterprise resource planning (ERP) in-house with artificial intelligence capabilities for smoother operations and effective control on wastages and inventory controls. “With this new appointment, we are sure to strengthen our product design and roadmap,” she added.
