Unveiling of gingerbread house to kick off festivities at Leela Palace

With Christmas around the corner, The Leela Palace New Delhi will kick off the celebrations with the unveiling of a gingerbread house on November 28, 2019.
Made of 3,000 bricks of fresh-baked gingerbread on the outside, and 900 larger tiles on the inside, one metric tonne of royal icing, and adorned with wreaths, traditional glass balls, stars and bells, along with gold foil decorations, the designing and sculpting of the house took a whopping 120 man hours to complete.
The unveiling of the house every year marks the onset of the celebrations of the festive season, and throughout the month along the house, the hotel has a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, a choir singing carols and a holiday gourmet shop filled with the best sweet indulgences.
There will be a selection of bountiful Christmas gift hampers filled with the joys of the festival, past and present. Moreover, delicacies like traditional plum pudding, sugar cookies, fruit cakes, mince pies and hand crafted chocolates, will give patrons reasons to visit the house, displayed here at the hotel’s lobby.
