Agri and food processors to meet in Kochi for finance and tech upgrade

fiogf49gjkf0d Hotel Travancore Court in Kochi, Kerala, would host the Agri and Food Processors’ Conclave on Finance, Technology and Markets on December 19, 2014. Organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), it would be divided into two sessions - ‘Technology Upgrade’ and ‘Financial Linkages’.
The first session would be chaired by Thomas Kutty, executive director, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (KSIDC).
The others slated to speak at the session are N K Manoj, managing director, Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation Ltd (KAMCO); R Harikumar, mission director, Kerala, National Mission Food Processing (NMFP); Dr Girish Verma, dean, College of Dairy Science and Technology, Kerala; Manoj Kumar C P, managing director, Raidco Kerala Ltd, and Subin Jose, area sales manager, Asia, Middle-East and Africa, Xenos.
The speakers for the second session are Dr Om S Tyagi, senior director, ASSOCHAM; D S Rathour, deputy regional manager, Kochi Region, Central Bank of India; N Remesh, general manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Kerala; Aparna Prathap, general manager in-charge, Kerala State Cooperative Agricultural and Rural Development Bank Ltd, and Krishna Das, assistant general manager, South Indian Bank.
Objectives To provide an enabling platform for networking to strengthen food retail and increasingly linking farmers to market;
To abreast the business world in general and delegates in particular about emerging opportunities for investment in food processing sector in Kerala;
To understand the technology trends in the food processing sector, finance and lending requirements, and
To strengthen the food marketing links in the value chain
Expected attendees It is a must-attend for the representatives of government or state enterprises; public and private sector banks and other financial institutions; the food processing industry (manufacturers of seafood, frozen food, semi-finished food, dairy and the beverage/soft drink/brewing industry); the agro industry; distributors [such as food and agro retail companies]; representatives of farmers’ groups; makers of cold chain equipment, providers of warehousing services), and representatives of agricultural universities and academies.
