fiogf49gjkf0d In a written reply to a query about the increasing adulteration of milk in India, health minister J P Nadda said in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, that as per the information available from the governments of states and Union Territories (UT), 3,814 samples were analysed.
Of these, 998 samples were not found to be conforming to the Food Safety and Standards Regulations (FSSR), 2011 (mainly due to the addition of water, milk fat, solid not fat, etc.). In 2013-14, 432 prosecutions were launched, and there were 122 convictions/penalties.
