Indian packaging industry

India is one of the fastest growing and lucrative packaging markets in the world. Currently the Indian packaging industry is estimated to grow at 18 per cent per annum. Identifying and recruiting new distributors and partners are the priorities of Intelpack 2015.

Unparalleled networking opportunity within the packaging industry and meet the who's who from the public, private sectors and competitors are its highlights. An active buying mode is activated for direct selling to serious buyers. Building business relationships, launching of new products and focus on long-term benefits are other important points pertaining to the event.

Apart from the huge value addition and employment involved in these activities, packaging has served the Indian economy by helping preservation of the quality and lengthening shelf life of innumerable products - ranging from milk and biscuits, to drugs and medicines, processed and semi-processed foods, fruits and vegetables, edible oils, and electronic goods.

Heightened competition in all product sectors within the country as also the increasing need to look for export markets have contributed to the rising demand for appropriate, and at the same time cost-effective, packaging material and technologies. The packaging industry’s growth has led to greater specialisation and sophistication from the point of view of health (in the case of packaged foods and medicines) and environment-friendliness of packing material. The demands on the packaging industry are challenging, given the increasing environmental awareness among communities.
