Australia’s first alcohol free beer festival set to launch in July
Tuesday, 07 July, 2020, 15 : 00 PM [IST]
Australia
Australia’s first-ever alcohol-free (AF) beer festival, Flow Festival, is set to show Australians that a booze-free lifestyle is anything but boring at a free, live and interactive virtual festival on 26 July, 2020.

The festival will showcase alcohol-free craft beers from the country’s leading breweries and retailers with the aim to normalise zero alcohol as a legitimate first preference within Australia’s beer culture.

 Participating breweries include:
Sobah – Lemon Aspen Pilsner, Fingers Lime Cerveza and Pepperberry IPA
Upflow Brewing Collective – Be the first to taste Upflow’s Pale Ale, Wheat, Stout and IPA
Holsten Zero – A full flavoured German Pilsener with less than a third of the calories
Coopers Brewery – Ultra Light Birell

From 12pm, virtual festivalgoers will be treated to a panel discussion on today’s beer culture and the social movement toward drinking without consuming alcohol.

The national line-up will feature some of Australia’s best thought leaders in the alcohol-free space, including:

Alan Riva – Author, entrepreneur and adventurer in Purpose and Presence teachings
Clinton Schultz – Founder of Australia's first non-alcoholic craft beer company, Sobah
Caleb Hogan – Co-founder of alcohol-free Melbourne brewery, UpFlow
Emma Craggs – Brand Marketing Manager at Coopers Brewery

The sober-curious and those going dry this July can get involved by purchasing a mixed pack (48 cans) of AF beers for $160 from www.flowfestival.life. On-the-day, attendees will be guided through tastings with the brewers themselves and will be invited to ask questions throughout the festival’s livestream all while learning about the alcohol-free brewing process.

The festival is the brainchild of entrepreneur and UpFlow co-founder, Julian Sanders who says zero-alcohol beer is a trend more Australians are embracing.

“Zero-alcohol beer is gaining the attention of craft brewers and drinkers alike. Developments in brewing technology means alcohol-free no longer results in flavour free; giving drinkers all the enjoyment of a fresh tinny without the hangover. By brewing beers that are full of flavour but contain no alcohol, we are able to open up new ways to enjoy drinking that are tied to health, fitness, performance, productivity and safety. Full-flavoured, alcohol-free beer is the holy grail of brewing science. Flow Festival celebrates this and the broader social movement toward living a responsible and more sustainable lifestyle.”
