Our Bureau, Bengaluru
Nestlé India has achieved a 70% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions per ton of product manufactured compared to 2018, while continuing business growth. The company has also reduced energy use by 13% and water use by 31% per ton of product manufactured against a 2018 baseline.

All its manufacturing factories now operate on 100% renewable electricity, including Renewable Energy Certificates. Biomass boilers installed at the Moga, Nanjangud, and Sanand factories are further helping increase the use of renewable fuels across operations

On the occasion of World Environment Day observed annually on June 5, it is doubling down on its sustainability commitment through focused action across climate, renewable energy, responsible sourcing, and circular economy initiatives.

Kunwar Himmat Singh, head – corporate affairs, sustainability and CSR, Nestlé India, said, "Our approach to sustainability is focused on creating long-term impact at scale – from reducing emissions in our operations to supporting farmers and advancing circular solutions on the ground. We remain committed to building resilient supply chains and contributing to a more sustainable future through collaborative action across our value chain."
