USV has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 79 per cent equity stake in Nutritionalab Private Limited, the parent company of Wellbeing Nutrition, valuing the business at Rs 1,583 crore. The acquisition marks USV’s strategic entry into India’s fast-growing direct-to-consumer (D2C) nutraceutical and preventive wellness segment.
With a six-decade legacy in the pharmaceutical sector and leadership in oral anti-diabetic and cardiovascular therapies, USV is known for flagship brands such as Glycomet GP, Ecosprin and Roseday, along with being the exclusive India partner for Sebamed. The addition of Wellbeing Nutrition expands USV’s portfolio beyond prescription-driven care into lifestyle-focused and preventive healthcare, reinforcing its evolution into a comprehensive healthcare player.
The move aligns with USV’s broader growth strategy across the healthcare continuum. The company is also preparing to enter the innovative GLP-1 therapy segment under its upcoming brand ‘usema’ following loss of exclusivity, further strengthening its metabolic health portfolio.
Founded on the principles of clean-label, science-backed nutrition, Wellbeing Nutrition offers premium nutraceutical products formulated with globally sourced natural ingredients. The brand has built strong consumer traction through an omni-channel presence and a robust proprietary digital platform. It has recorded 120 per cent growth over the past two years and is expected to cross Rs 450 crore in revenue by FY27.
Commenting on the acquisition, USV managing director Prashant Tewari said the partnership supports the company’s vision of building a future-ready healthcare portfolio while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Avnish Chhabria, founder and CEO of Wellbeing Nutrition, described the deal as a natural alignment rooted in scientific rigor, trust and long-term value creation.
