Bengaluru’s Shangri-La Hotel appoints Anurudh Khanna as executive chef

Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru, has appointed Anurudh Khanna as executive chef to head and oversee the hotel’s culinary operations. Prior to taking up the assignment, he had over 17 years of culinary experience at five-star and luxury hotels.

He has seven years of experience as an executive chef, a creative flair for food presentation, a strong business sense and a proven track record of streamlining operations with engaging interpersonal skills.

Khanna’s role includes overseeing the hotel’s seven dining venues, including the Chinese restaurant Shang Palace; the Indian specialty restaurant Ssaffron; the all-day-dining restaurant b Cafe; the Lobby Lounge, which is known for its tea; Japanese restaurant Yataii; Caprese, which serves enticing Mediterranean and Italian delights, and the rooftop lounge-bar, Hype.

He will also oversee the hotel’s in-room dining and banquet operations, as well as catering events.

At Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru, Khanna – a veteran of traditional, regional and progressive Indian and Italian cuisine – will focus on continuously improving the guests’ dining experience through impeccable service and by maintaining the highest quality of food standards.

He has many accolades to his credit, and has been the recipient of many prestigious culinary awards. He also had the opportunity to showcase the diversity and beauty of Indian cuisine during the prestigious India-Stockholm week, Namaste Stockholm, which was attended by the president of India and his delegation.

Khanna, who hails from New Delhi, is an alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management, Kufri Shimla, and holds a BTS degree from IGNOU.

During his previous assignments, he was instrumental in ensuring that the restaurants bagged awards and emerged the most sought-after food and beverage destinations in their respective cities.
