PDRL, a leading DroneTech company, is empowering the drone industry with its advanced software stack. PDRL’s flagship product, AeroGCS, is being adopted by around 70% of agriculture drone manufacturers and partners in the industry. Industry leaders working on the IFFCO Drone Spraying initiative have embraced the AeroGCS Enterprise Platform to streamline their drone spraying analytics.

To provide maximum benefit to the farmers, IFFCO has launched a comprehensive initiative encompassing 1270 demonstrations of Nano DAP (liquid) in 413 districts and 200 trials of Nano Urea Plus (liquid) in 100 districts. Nano Urea, pioneered by IFFCO, offers a sustainable alternative for nitrogen supply, promoting smart agriculture and mitigating climate change effects. Contracts have been made with 15 institutions to spray 245 lakh acres by drones, benefiting farmers' fields by IFFCO while targeting around 500 lakh acre farmland.

The company stated that the platform aims to enhance crop yields while reducing labour dependency and optimising resource utilisation for farmers nationwide.

AeroGCS, a Made in India drone ground control station software, is in the process of achieving a significant milestone in agricultural spraying. Around 3 crore acres of spraying operations are to be conducted using AeroGCS GREEN and AeroGCS Enterprise, said the company.

AeroGCS GREEN is designed for agricultural spraying, providing users with advanced features that enhance crop management and protection with precision spraying. With its user-friendly interface and robust functionality, it ensures accurate fertiliser application, leading to healthier crops and increased yields.

AeroGCS Enterprise, on the other hand, caters to large-scale drone operations, offering sophisticated features for managing extensive spraying with accurate flight logs and flight detailed insights. Drone manufacturers and service providers can effortlessly calculate acreage and other key metrics, offering IFFCO accurate billing information and performance reports. Additionally, AeroGCS GREEN, the software for drone flight operations, will control all drones in this project, ensuring seamless synchronization with AeroGCS Enterprise in real-time.

This large-scale drone spraying operation offers clear benefits to farmers. It reduces the time needed for spraying from weeks to hours, allowing for greater efficiency. Precision spraying improves crop yields and reduces dependency on manual labour, providing a more sustainable and cost-effective approach.

With India’s agricultural landscape spanning approximately 40 crore acres, the potential for scaling drone-based spraying operations is vast. Industry experts predict that the drone spraying market in India could reach $5 billion in the coming years, showing strong growth potential in this sector. PDRL’s AeroGCS Enterprise has demonstrated its impact through multiple case studies, showing improvements in crop yields and operational efficiency.

Anil Chandaliya, CEO, PDRL, said, “Indian agriculture faces a crucial choice between boosting food production and preserving the environment. At PDRL, we see drone technology as a transformative force for India’s farming sector. The company is a pioneer in drone technology with AeroGCS GREEN and AeroGCS Enterprise, which provide real-time analytics to enhance crop management and protection through precision spraying for healthier crops. This will enable the lives of over 1 crore farmers by increasing their productivity by 20% and supporting the growth of the agricultural sector. Through this initiative, we not only aim to enhance agricultural efficiency but also to promote sustainable practices like Nano Urea, an advanced nanotechnology-based agri-input promoted by IFFCO.”
