UAS-Bangalore becomes first farm university in Karnataka to achieve A+ NAAC accreditation

The University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore (UAS-B), becomes first farm university in Karnataka to achieve A+ NAAC accreditation. The university applied for NAAC accreditation this year. The NAAC Peer Team conducted a comprehensive assessment by visiting UASB and its constituent colleges from February 5 to 7, 2025.

Following rigorous evaluation, the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, has been accredited with an A+ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This accreditation, effective from February 13, 2025, is valid for five years. Notably, UASB is the first among all farm universities in Karnataka to secure an A+ Grade, marking a significant milestone in its journey of academic and research excellence.

The A+ Grade reflects the university’s excellence in agricultural education, research, extension and administration, reaffirming its commitment to academic quality, impactful research, infrastructure development and innovative teaching methodologies.

Dr S V Suresha, vice-chancellor, UAS Bangalore, said, "This achievement is a result of the collective efforts of our faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders with the support of Govt. of Karnataka. It inspires us to further enhance our academic and research endeavours to serve the farming community and the nation. UAS Bangalore continues to be a pioneering institution in agricultural sciences in the country and remains dedicated to agricultural innovation and knowledge dissemination for the benefit of society.”

It was established in 1964, is a premier institution dedicated to agricultural education, research, and extension. As it celebrates its 60th year of Diamond Jubilee in 2024-25, the university continues to uphold its commitment to excellence in Teaching, Research, and Extension in Agriculture and Allied Sciences. Over the past six decades, UASB has achieved remarkable growth in academic programs, research innovations, and outreach initiatives, contributing significantly to the advancement of Indian agriculture.
