S N Ladhani passed away on May 2, 2025, at his residence in Bareilly, according to a company statement. He founded SLMG Beverages, which currently operates bottling plants in Ayodhya, Amethi, Agra, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh, along with a new plant being built in Buxar, Bihar. In 1992, when Coca Cola re-entered India, the brand’s first bottle was produced under Ladhani’s supervision at the Agra plant.
With his leadership, the business grew into what is now SLMG Beverages, operating seven large plants across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Bihar. His efforts provided direct employment to more than 10,000 people and indirectly supported the livelihoods of lakhs of others. The company is establishing this new plant in Buxar with an investment of Rs 1,200 crore and plans to open another similar plant with an additional investment of Rs 1,500 crore.
Ladhani’s business was not limited to beverages alone, he also ventured into hotels, shopping malls, animal feed production, and renewable energy. He developed important properties in Bareilly and Haridwar and, in collaboration with the Oberoi Group, opened a hotel in Rishikesh. His commitment to sustainability led to the production of approximately 75 megawatts of clean energy through solar and wind power.
