Chef Aanal Kotak, celebrity chef, entrepreneur and co-founder of TSK Hospitality LLP, will represent India at the 10th World Tapas Championship (Concurso Mundial de Tapas), scheduled to take place from November 9–11, 2026, in Valladolid, Spain. She will showcase Gujarat's culinary heritage through Amdavad ni Kachori, an iconic regional preparation presented in a contemporary tapas-style format.

Recognised as Gujarat's Youngest Cooking Expert and known for her appearance as a celebrity guest on MasterChef India Season 7, Kotak will compete alongside 15 chefs from across five continents for the title of World's Best Tapa. The championship, hosted at the Cúpula del Milenio in Valladolid, will feature participants from countries including Australia, Mexico, the US, Thailand, South Korea, India and the UK.

Conceptualised around the sister-city connection between Ahmedabad and Valladolid, Amdavad ni Kachori brings together six distinct expressions of Gujarat's food culture on a single plate. The dish incorporates Tuver Dal, representing traditional Gujarati home cooking; Kadhi, reflecting regional culinary traditions; Mango Chundo, adding a sweet-and-sour flavour; and mint for freshness. These elements are brought together through the essence of Indian street food, reinterpreted to suit the international tapas format.

The 10th edition of the World Tapas Championship aims to celebrate culinary excellence, innovation and diverse food traditions through contemporary interpretations of tapas. Participating chefs will present their creations before an international jury of culinary experts.

Speaking about her participation, Kotak, founder of The Secret Kitchen, said that representing India at the international competition was an honour and an opportunity to showcase the country's diverse regional cuisines. She added that through Amdavad ni Kachori, she aims to introduce Gujarat's distinctive flavours and culinary traditions to a global audience.

Her participation highlights the growing international recognition of Indian regional cuisine and provides a platform to present traditional Indian preparations through contemporary culinary formats.
