Hyderabad-based Manam Chocolate emerged as one of the top performers at the inaugural Indian Craft Chocolate Competition 2026, winning multiple gold, silver and bronze medals across various categories. The awards recognised some of India's leading bean-to-bar chocolate makers, including Paul And Mike, Savorworks Roasters, Chitra'm Craft Chocolates, Pascati, Subko Cacao and others.
Organised by the International Chocolate Awards in collaboration with the Indian Cacao & Craft Chocolate Festival, the competition introduced an internationally recognised framework for evaluating and celebrating excellence in India's growing craft chocolate industry. The winners will be honoured during a dedicated awards ceremony at the fifth edition of the Indian Cacao & Craft Chocolate Festival this December.
The competition attracted entries from craft chocolate makers across the country, with products evaluated through a blind-tasting process conducted by an international panel of certified chocolate tasters and sensory experts. Chocolates were judged across categories such as dark, milk and white chocolate bars, bonbons, truffles, dragées and speciality products, with assessments based on flavour, texture, balance, craftsmanship, appearance and overall sensory experience.
Besides Manam Chocolate, the competition recognised outstanding performances by Savorworks Roasters, Paul and Mike, Chitra'm Craft Chocolates, Anuttama, Pascati, Baker's Artisanal Recipes and Subko Cacao, among others, with gold, silver and bronze medals awarded across multiple categories.
The founders of the Indian Cacao & Craft Chocolate Festival said the competition marks a significant step in strengthening India's craft chocolate ecosystem by providing local makers access to internationally respected judging standards while highlighting the quality and innovation emerging from the country's bean-to-bar sector.
Martin Christy, Founder of the International Chocolate Awards, said the competition is designed not only to recognise excellence but also to encourage continuous improvement through rigorous sensory evaluation and constructive feedback. He noted that the quality, creativity and diversity of Indian entries demonstrate the country's strong potential to become a leading global destination for craft chocolate.
The Indian Craft Chocolate Competition is expected to become an annual initiative aimed at supporting the continued growth of India's craft chocolate sector by recognising excellence, encouraging innovation and promoting greater appreciation for premium chocolate among consumers and industry stakeholders. Winners of the inaugural edition will be celebrated at the Indian Cacao & Craft Chocolate Festival later this year, bringing together cacao growers, chocolate makers, industry professionals and enthusiasts from across the country.
