The 8th edition of the international trade fair for beverage, dairy and liquid food technology, drink technology India, kicked off at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai on Wednesday.
Drink technology India officially opened the show with an inauguration ceremony wherein each dignitary planted a sapling, instead of lighting a lamp or cutting a ribbon. The dignitaries were then handed over magazines to throw open the PackMach Asia Expo, and later escorted through the event hall, to visit every exhibit and stall at the show.
The number of visitors expected at the event is about 12,000 from across the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region, and approximately 250 exhibitors from across the sector.
The event will also showcase a German pavilion, alongside co-located events - World Tea and Coffee Expo and PackMach Asia Expo.
The theme of the conference held on the first day was Emerging technologies in beverage industry.
Day 1 saw conferences featuring CEO session.
