TY students of Mumbai’s Kohinoor College organise Innovatia Indonesia

Innovatia Indonesia, an Indonesian food festival, was organised by the T Y B Sc (HS) students of Kohinoor College of Hotel and Tourism Management Studies, Dadar, recently. They prepared over 60 dishes and mocktails.
It was an assignment under Event Planning, Marketing and Management, a subject that is a part of Mumbai University’s syllabus for Semester VI of the B Sc (HS) course.
Members of the Indonesian Consulate in Mumbai attended the event, which was held for the first time.
Saut Srinigoringo, consul general, The Republic of Indonesia, said, “It was a splendid afternoon. I enjoyed it to the fullest, The students were outstanding in their preparations from start to end.”
“The Nasi goreng and Gado-gado salad were my favourites, besides the variety of dishes under all courses,” he added.
Ritesh Chaudhary, director, food and beverages, Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, said, “I was amazed to see the enthusiasm and energy levels of the Kohinoor students in presenting a innovative concept like this one.”
“The food, decor and hospitality was just perfect and reminded me of my own college days,” he added.
Chef Kaviraj Khialani, head, academics, Kohinoor College of Hotel and Tourism Management Studies, said, “Presenting an event which is the first of its kind and grooming the students with international hospitality standards, cultures, food and beverage was indeed a task.”
“But it was achieved and led to a day full of memories for a lifetime for one and all at Innovatia Indonesia,” he added.
