Aahar kicks off with expectations for large footfall

The 36th edition of the international food and hospitality trade fair, Aahar, started at Pragati Maidan on Tuesday. India’s largest food & hospitality fair was called off last year due to Covid pandemic and organiser Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) expects a large footfall this year.
LC Goya, CMD, ITPO, said that wide arrangements were made this year to accommodate large footfall and many new halls were incorporated after the redevelopment of the Pragati Maidan.
Compared to the last Aahar, this year the area has been increased from 40000sqm to 75000sqm and the exhibitors were also added. Compared to 2020, 1150 exhibitors are participating this time against 750 in 2020.
12 foreign countries including Austria, Canada, Estonia, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, the UAE, UK, USA, Oman, and South Africa, are participating this year.
Similarly, several public sector undertakings including Spice Board, Coconut Development Board, Tea Board, Coffee Board, Fisheries Development Board, Millets Board, Marine Products Board, FSSAI etc. were also taking part in Aahar.
