The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) recently organised a special seminar on sales and marketing practices for hotels and restaurants at Mumbai’s Hotel Marine Plaza.
Forty-six hospitality professionals from several Mumbai-based hotels and restaurants participated in the seminar, which was conducted by industry’s leading proponents in the fields of sales and marketing.
The subject matter experts (SMEs) who conducted the seminar - Karan Godhwani, director, sales and marketing, Vivanta by Taj President, and Rohan Mehta, chief executive officer, Social Kinnect (one of India's largest independent digital agencies) - shared insights on the industry-best practices and trends, which, if practiced, could help hotels and restaurants increase their top-line growth.
One of the most active hotel and restaurant associations in the country, HRAWI organises several such initiatives to keep members informed and updated about the latest developments in the industry.
“The early adopters have witnessed how marketing can enhance their hotel’s or restaurant’s awareness, improve guest relations and create engaged brand advocates,” said Gurbaxish Singh Kohli, president, HRAWI.
“Marketing has played a very important role in improving revenue and boosting the overall performance of an establishment. It has become one of the most exciting, and more importantly, a determining factor for hotels and restaurants to stay ahead of the game,” he added.
“Going forward, it will become increasingly important for marketing professionals to monitor developments, disruptions and identify patterns in this sphere to remain relevant and competitive in this dynamic business,” said Kohli.
“I thank the participants for attending the seminar and making it a success, and I also thank Godhwani and Mehta for sharing their knowledge with us. Over and above the benefits that the membership offers, HRAWI is committed to organising such programmes that are great value adds to our members,” said Shail Barot, chairman, seminar committee.
