iTV Network organises 2019 edition of Sunday Guardian-NewsX F&B Awards

iTV network, an Indian news and infotainment network, organised The Sunday Guardian-NewsX Food & Beverage Awards 2019, which was aimed to appreciate the contributions of those front-runners who have done tremendous work in the food and hospitality sector.

The event, which took place at Hotel Metropolitan, New Delhi, witnessed the presence of top gourmet experts and industry stalwarts, who contributed towards the growth of the food and hospitality industry. It recognised and celebrated the fine-dining restaurants, five-star properties and the best lounges in Delhi NCR.

The inaugural session of the event, titled Top Chefs: A Delicious Journey, began with a discussion between chefs Vikramjit Roy, Priyam Chatterjee and Nishant Chaubey. The sessions contributed towards understanding and acknowledging the incredible and interesting journey of these renowned chefs.

While Roy said, “Our Indian tradition of food is much deep-rooted”, Chatterjee, who discussed making a career into the food making business, said, “The journey into the food business industry is delicious but so is the struggle”. Chaubey mentioned that he was fascinated of being on television, hence he decided to become a chef.  

In another session, titled Hot Starters: Recipe for Success, Riyaaz Amlani, chief executive officer, Impresario Entertainment and Hospitality Pvt Ltd, and Dildeep Kalra, director, Massive Restaurants, spoke about their eventful journey and how the Indian culinary scenario has been changed over the years.

Commenting on the competition in the food business, Kalra said, “It is all about reinventing what we are doing.” Amlani stated, “It is all about good food, good service and good story telling to our customers.”

The conclave was attended by stakeholders of the food and beverage industry, policy-makers, entrepreneurs, corporates and experts from the food processing and food delivery sectors, who acknowledged the challenges and opportunities and lauded the efforts that positively affect the industry and the millions of consumers it serves.

Roseate House, New Delhi won the Five-star Hotel of the Year Award; MB Greens Clarks Inn won the Excellence in Hospitality Award; Jaypee Resorts won the Best Resort in Delhi NCR Award; Hyatt Regency won the Best Convention Hotel in Delhi NCR Award; Anantatva won the Excellence in Manufacturing of Organic Foods Award; Chutney Bar + Tandoor won the Excellence in Food - Tandoori Award; Ghar Restaurant won the Best Theme-based Restaurant Award; Spellbound won the Restaurant of the Year Award in Noida; Finch won the Entrant Restaurant of the Year Award; Sandoz won the Legendary Punjabi Restaurant Chain Award; Bottles and Barrels won the Most Innovative Bar Award; Sand Restro Bar won the Taking Heritage to Next Level Award; Suhel Nagpal of Symphony Banquet, won the Youngest Entrepreneur of the Year Award; Saransh Gupta of TYM Restaurant, won the Youngest Restauranteur of the Year Award; Jairam Banan, founder, Sagar Ratna, won the Lifetime Achievement Award; Manish Goyal won the Excellence in Indian Food (Non Metro) Award; Guppy won the Japanese Restaurant of the Year Award; Saints and Sinners Grub Pub-Music won the Excellence in Nightlife with Live Music Performance Award in NCR; Imly Restaurant won the Best Pure Veg Award in Delhi NCR; Duty Free Vayu Bar won the Restaurant of the Year Award in Delhi NCR; Amritsari Express won the Best Kulcha Award in India; Satmola won The Best Digestive Tablet Award; Vapour Bar Exchange won the Best Microbreweries, Delhi NCR Award, and Too Indian won the Best Modern Indian Restaurant Award.
