Mumbai to host Home Chef Matters 2019, with healthy cooking as theme

The 2019 essay of Home Chef Matters, an all-day conference, will take place at St Regis Hotel, Mumbai, between 10:30am and 5pm on September 8. It will focus on Towards Healthy Cooking.
It is the premier platform for home chefs to meet, engage, learn and network with the best from the hospitality industry. They will be encouraged to learn to market their entrepreneurial skills and through a series of speeches and discussions, all stakeholders will come together to gain new insights and network with each other.
Actress and celebrity chef Amrita Raichand; actress-turned-author Tara Deshpande; chef Vicky Ratnani; television chef Varun Inamdar; celebrity chef Saransh Goila; public relations and marketing specialist Nikhila Palat; public figure and chef Rakhee Vaswani, television personality and author Kunal Vijaykar and many other big names from the industry have been brought together by the Food Bloggers’ Association of India (FBAI) to speak on pertinent topics that would help enlighten home chefs and encourage them to make their passion into a flourishing career.
Saloni Malkani, co-founder, FBAI, said, “Consumers today are open to experimenting with food more than ever before. They are open to different and unique dining experiences including authentic regional cuisines, healthy eating and more.”
As a result, the culinary space in India is exploding and home chefs are coming into the forefront - seeing a rise in catering, selling packaged products, pop-up dining culture, consulting and various other avenues.”
The conference will end with an exciting mystery box challenge for the attendees, where they showcase their skills for healthy cooking in a cook-off judged by the finest in the industry. This break-off session allows the attending home chefs an opportunity to make an impact in the minds of some of the country’s top hospitality influencers.
The highlight of the conference will be the specially-crafted delicacies served at lunch by eight handpicked home chefs.
Bimba Nayak, Devansh Jhaveri, Gini Shah, Lunica Desai, Aparna Chowdhary, Jasleen Marwah and Hemali Prasad and Roopa Nabar, who will prepare two dishes each, for the first time ever in a commercial kitchen at the luxury five-star under the guidance and mentorship of its executive chef Paul Kinny.
The event will be presented by Godrej Industries, in association with Vikhroli Cucina, Godrej Appliances, Godrej Veg Oils, Cartini India, Godrej Real Good, and Godrej Protekt.
