Thursday, 16 August, 2018, 08 : 00 AM [IST]
Anurag More, Mumbai
Live Quality Lab and Food Safety on Wheels by FSSAI will be new features at the 13th essay of Food Ingredients (Fi) India and Health Ingredients (Hi), which will be organised by UBM India Pvt. Ltd and take place at India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida, between August 30 and September 1, 2018. The events will be co-located with ProPak India, providing the attendees a one-stop solution for all their ingredients, processing and packaging needs.

Live Quality Lab
The companies exhibiting at the Live Quality Lab will conduct lab tests on products in a designated area for common adulterants in milk, water, edible oil and other items of daily consumption. Testing the food to install confidence in the consumers that it is safe to eat is a crucial aspect of the food safety ecosystem. FSSAI, on a large scale, is supporting and undertaking such activities.

Food Safety on Wheels
FSSAI is working towards having more food testing labs, both in the public and private sectors. The country’s apex food regulator will have their mobile testing vans placed on the show floor.
The objectives of both the aforementioned features are to build awareness around food safety and hygiene; promote healthy eating habits in the citizens at large, and conduct training and certification programmes for food handlers and supervisors in food businesses, particularly petty food businesses.
