ITC Aashirvaad, in collaboration with UP Warriorz, successfully concluded the 'Char Kadam Aage Cricket Camp' in Lucknow. The programme, covering 11 districts of Uttar Pradesh, ended with the declaration of the best performing young cricketers who will now get an exclusive chance to train with senior UP Warriorz players.
Over the last month, Aashirvaad and the UPW team trained young female cricketers between 10 and 16 years old, with professional coaching. The initiative not only focused on sharpening the skills of the young girls but also instilled confidence among the aspirants to pursue the game.

This pioneering initiative underscores Aashirvaad’s dedication to empowering women and nurturing talent through skill development.

At the grand finale ceremony in Lucknow, the best two performers from each of the 11 participating districts—Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi, Noida, Meerut, Bareilly, Firozabad, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, and Saharanpur—were awarded in the presence of dignitaries from ITC Aashirvaad, UP Warriorz, and leading UPW players like Alana King, Rajeshwari Gaikwad and Arushi Goel.

The 22 winners are Aarna Goswami and Nimisha Dixit from Noida, Vinita Baghel and Vaishnavi Pal from Agra, Riya Bhati and Kinjal Chaudhary from Meerut, Kavyaa Bhandoh and Isra Haq from Kanpur, Shagun Rana and Zafirah Ansari from Saharanpur, Azra Khatoon and Anvesha Yadav from Lucknow, Priya Yadav and Soni Yadav from Varanasi, Deeksha Yadav and Aradhya Singh from Jhansi, Qubba Aziz and Manvi Verma from Bareilly, Guddan Singh and Ananya from Firozabad, Sanjana Ambedkar and Surbhi Bhatt from Gorakhpur.

The camp included rigorous training in batting, bowling, fielding, and fitness. Besides the on-field training, interactive sessions like cricket quizzes, freestyle performances, and confidence-building challenges offered a complete learning experience to the participants.

Speaking about the initiative, Shuvadip Banerjee, chief digital marketing officer (CDMO), ITC Ltd, said, "Aashirvaad is proud to see the tremendous participation received through this programme. These young girls have demonstrated incredible commitment and passion towards the sport. We look forward to seeing them move forward as they train with UP Warriorz and pursue their dreams.”

Kshemal Waingankar, COO - UP Warriorz (Capri Sports), added, “We are immensely proud of each participant who stepped forward with ambition and determination. The journey doesn’t end here, it’s just the beginning for these young cricketers. We look forward to seeing them grow, excel, and one day, make the nation proud.”

The winner will now have the opportunity to be mentored by UP Warriorz players and coaches, giving them exposure to professional-level strategy, technique, and fitness programmes. The initiative seeks to fill the gap between grassroot talent and professional cricket, consolidating Aashirvaad and UP Warriorz' common vision of developing women's cricket in India.
