The Moplah Food Festival, underway at the Bengaluru outlets of Barbeque Nation, India’s leading casual dining restaurant chain, will conclude on March 24, 2019. On offer is a range of delicacies from the Malabar region of North Kerala. This is, by far, the biggest tribute to authentic Moplah cuisine outside Kerala.
The menu comprises starters such as Kozhi Kaal Roast, Chicken Shish Tawook, Meen Pollichathu and Chemmeen Porichathu, and soups such as Pineapple Rasam for vegetarians and Kozhi Thengai Paal Soup for non-vegetarians.
There will be a live counter, featuring such dishes as Thayir Vadai, Idiyappam and Pachakai kurma for vegetarians and Mutton Alisa and Malabar biriyani for non-vegetarians. The main course counter comprises vegetarian dishes like Kadala Curry, Tomato Parippu and Kerala Rice, and non-vegetarian dishes like Mamsum Varutharacha Curry, Nadan Kozhi Curry, Alleppey Fish Curry, Malabar Mutta Roast and Mamsam Biryani.
The desserts include Elaneer Payasam, Dates pudding, Ada Pradaman, Coconut Kulfi and Banana Kulfi, apart from the signature kulfis that Barbeque Nation offers.
Ritam Mukherjee, regional head, Barbeque Nation Hospitality Ltd, said, “The Moplah festival which was first held at Barbeque Nation outlets in Kerala was a huge hit and very well received by people with authority on the signature dishes. This prompted us to spread the joy into other states, where diners can experience this phenomenon for the first time and come back to us for more. We are extremely happy to present this festival to our guests in Bengaluru, and are confident of spreading this delight way beyond its home turf.”
